Clonmel Town manager hopes current TS&DL season can be finished

first_img“You shouldn’t reward the teams that have struggled all year. Really they should finish the season.“It’s only fair that Cashel get the opportunity for promotion.“…If you do cancel the season, you’re kind of rewarding Clonmel Celtic, Twomileborris, Cahir, etc, with another season of the premier league when maybe they don’t deserve it.” Clonmel Town manager Jonathan Donoghue says he hopes the current TS&DL season can be finished. All local soccer was halted due to the Covid-19 virus along with every sport across the country. However, the former Munster Youths winning manager says it would be particularly cruel on teams chasing silverware if the season couldn’t be concluded: Photo: Pixabaylast_img read more

Nitehawks put an end to nightmare season of Nelson Leafs

first_imgAll the scoring Beaver Valley would need came at the two minute mark of the second period when Kyle Hope scored an unassisted tally past Josh Williams in the Leaf nets. The Hawks then rode the stellar netminding of Tallon Kramer for the remainder of the game to seal the victory and the series.“I have to say in Games three and four, (Tallon) Kramer was outstanding,” said Leaf coach Mario DiBella.“There were probably six opportunities where we could have buried the puck but (Kramer) just came up with a terrific save.”Nelson, which out shot the Hawks 31-25 in the game, received a terrific performance from Williams in the Leaf nets.Despite going out four straight, DiBella, who came on board before Christmas when the executive made a change in the coaching staff, was pleased with the resiliency of a hockey team that was left battered and bruised by the former regime.“I think this team performed to its potential,” DiBella explained. “I think the players who had the confidence beaten out of them just didn’t get that confidence back they had coming into the season.”Unfortunately, for Leaf fans there will be no more playoff hockey in March for the fifth consecutive year — four of the past five playoff exits happening in the first round at the hands of the Nitehawks. As for DiBella, he’ll wait for the dust to settle before making a decision if he wants to return behind the bench to lead the Leafs next season.“That remains to be seen,” he said.LEAF BANTER: It was an emotional post-game handshake for Nelson Minor Hockey grad Nolan Percival, who was traded to Beaver Valley during the season. The speedy forward stop to share hugs with many of his former teammates. . . . Leaf forward Cleary Ambrose was back in the lineup for Nelson after missing Friday’s game with the flu. . . . The Hawks have a few days to rest while waiting for the winner of the Castlegar/Grand Forks series. Saturday in Grand Forks Chris Breese scored this third goal of the game early in overtime to spark the Rebels to the 6-5 victory. The series is tied 2-2 with Game five Monday in Castlegar. The series then shifts back to Grand Forks for Game six Tuesday. The first game of the Murdoch Final is slated for Saturday, March 5 in Fruitvale. The 2015-16 Kootenay International Junior Hockey League season for the Nelson Leafs had the ride of a Silverwood rollercoaster, up one day, down the next.So it came as no surprise to many fans that the end of the season would come on a downer for the Heritage City franchise.Saturday night, at the NDCC Arena, saw the conclusion of the nightmare campaign for the Green and White when the Beaver Valley Nitehawks scored a 1-0 decision over the Leafs to sweep the best-of-seven Murdoch Division Semi Final 4-0.The Hawks now advance to meet the winner of the Grand Forks/Castlegar series while the Leafs look to the future to try to rebuild this once proud franchise.“We sure would have liked to see this series continue but we feel we now have a platform and a little bit of structure now back into the organization,” said Leaf president John Dooley following the contest.“Unfortunately we ran into a lot of injuries to some of our key players and that hurt us in this series.”“But I think you can tell from this playoff round that clearly there’s a bit of direction now and it wasn’t from a lack of effort that these young men lost tonight,” Dooley added.last_img read more

first_imgThe teams participating have been divided into two groups with five group games each ahead of classification games. Ireland will contest Group B and face Great Britain on Saturday (July 8th), Israel on Sunday (July 9th), and Belarus on Monday (July 10th) before a much-deserved rest day. They will go on to play Croatia and Romania later next week. Ireland Under 20 Women’s Management Team:Head Coach: Maeve ColemanAsst. Coach: Emer HowardTeam Manager: Ger O’Learyprint WhatsApp Facebook Twitter Email Monday, July 10thBelarus v Ireland, 18.30 “They are both tough groups, there is no easy group and there will be no easy games,” said Head Coach Maeve Coleman. “We saw that when we played the Slovak Republic last week, so we know we are in for a tough test. We face Great Britain first and we will be hoping that we can do well against them. We are going to take each game as it comes, we are not blinkered about the challenge that lies ahead.“The squad has been great. They have been working hard since we got together in December and have given all we asked of them and committed to all aspects of the programme. We couldn’t have asked for more. Now, we need to take our intensity and our skill level to the next level and incorporate it in our games. Our Israel game on Sunday will be a tough ask too, there is pressure on them being the home team and the gym will be packed. We will be massive underdogs, but that’s they way I like it to be. Either way, this will be an amazing expereince for the squad, and hopefully we can come out with the wins to give the girls justice for all the hard work they have put in.”Keep up to date with all the action from the championships through the official event website here where the games will also be streamed. New Details About the Disney Skyliner Gondola Transportation System

first_imgFirst things first, it was announced that Disney characters like the Fab Five, characters from Disney attractions, fan favorites from movies, and more would be a part of the fun. The exterior of the cabins will feature iconic beloved Disney characters incorporated into their design, like Belle and Beast, the Haunted Mansion ghosts, Mickey and Minnie, and more. ©Disney Share This! When it was announced at the D23 Expo that the Walt Disney World Resort was getting a gondola transportation system, called the Disney Skyliner, I was a little surprised. It was a cool idea, but the questions soon started coming to my mind. Today, Disney answered some of the questions I had, as well as some additional ones.©Disney One of the destinations will be Epcot. Guests will be able to enter and exit at the International Gateway entrance located near World Showcase. The design of the Disney Skyliner station here will be inspired by the park’s nearby European Pavilions. The station will be covered with metal and glass canopies, will feature hand-painted murals and ornamental steel structures that call back to the early 18th century Art Nouveau style. Oh and let’s not forget about the views, because Guests traveling to Epcot will experience a birds-eye view of World Showcase.©Disney The main hub of the Disney Skyliner will be at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. At this station, Guests will be able to transfer gondola routes to reach their destination. This station is inspired by the open air village marketplaces of the Caribbean. It will showcase the nearby resort’s architectural detailing and color schemes.©Disney I think I love the Disney’s Hollywood Studios Skyliner station the most though because the design style will fit with that of the park’s main entrance and bus stations. Passengers traveling here can expect a new aerial perspective of the park’s iconic attractions, like The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.Over at Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Guests will share a Disney Skyliner station. Here, the station will feel whimsical and fit both resorts. Upon departing the gondola station, Skyliner passengers will ascend over Hourglass Lake and enjoy a panoramic view of these two colorful resorts. Finally, Guests will be treated to fantastic views as cabins will slow down at the Disney Skyliner turn-station along Buena Vista Drive, where guests can see the mechanical and aerial components that make up the Disney Skyliner. Are you excited about experiencing the Disney Skyliner? Shoplifter Finds DA’s ‘No Prosecute List’ Not Available in His County

first_imgrear view of prison officer leading prisoner in handcuffsAn admitted career crook in Massachusetts who saw the news about Suffolk DA Rachael Rollins’ “No Prosecute List” on a jailhouse TV couldn’t believe it when cops in Weymouth slapped cuffs on him for shoplifting $126 worth of goods from a Stop & Shop.“It’s not a crime, I thought. I saw it on TV when I was in prison,” Glenn Kerivan griped to the Herald on Thursday. Kerivan, a 59-year-old Arlington man who the cops describe as having a “lengthy” criminal history, was arrested May 9 for shoplifting in a Weymouth store, to which he pleaded guilty the next day and was issued a $500 fine.Kerivan also made unsolicited comments during fingerprinting referencing the Suffolk County District Attorney Rachael Rollins and how he believed she no longer prosecuted shoplifting charges.” Only one problem. Weymouth is in Norfolk County, where DA Michael Morrissey and his prosecutors take a dim view of shoplifting… Boston Herald- Sponsor – Stay UpdatedGet critical information for loss prevention professionals, security and retail management delivered right to your inbox.  Sign up nowlast_img read more

first_imgTottenham manager Pochettino: We’re not among Champions League favouritesby Paul Vegasa month agoSend to a friendShare the loveTottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino doesn’t regard themselves among the Champions League favourites this season.Pochettino guided Spurs on a memorable run to the final of last season’s competition, where they fell just short against Liverpool.”No one today will give us a chance to be one of the contenders to be in the final in Istanbul but that is normal,” he said. “That makes it very exciting.”We know to repeat the same campaign we need to play in our best. It is so early to talk about the final but most important is to show our quality, our squad quality and do our best.”I don’t care if people think if we are contenders or not because we went to the final and have a possibility to fight for this title.”I don’t care. I am focused on starting this Champions League in a good way.”Spurs are preparing to begin this season’s campaign, with a Group B opener at Olympiacos tonight.
